Topic: Exodus, Made in Zero

The 2nd NFF Independent Film Festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Shinhan University

The theme is to go beyond hardships and crises such as COVID-19 (Exodus), start with Zero where everything is possible (Made in Zero), and move toward a future of hope for the next generation. Come and join to become a ‘Star’ of NFF!

Overview

1. Who can apply: Anyone

2. Project Condition 

  • RT: 29 sec~10 min, 4Kor Full HD, in MP4 format
  • The project must have not been submitted or won awards in other contests. 

3. Application Deadline 

  • 1st Round Application due date: ~ March 21st
  • 2nd Round Application due date: ~ April 11th

4. Prize

  • The total amount of Prize: \50,000,000
  • Grand Prize: \30,000,000 Gold Prize: \10,000,000
  •  6 winning prize teams, 2 overseas prize teams, 2 special prize teams: Each team will receive \1,000,000

5. Evaluation criteria

  • Judge’s score + Youtube Score (The number of subscribers, likes, comments, view count)
  • The 1st round application Youtube exposure period: 3/25~4/24
  • The 2nd round application Youtube exposure period: 4/15~24

6. Award Ceremony: April 27th, 3 PM 

*We also accept the videos about commentary, behind-the-scenes cuts, and how the applicants felt while making the video of the project. Please submit it to help the judges’ evaluation  (within 7 minutes).

7. Terms and Conditions

  1. The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong (the Center) reserves the rights to make the final decision on the prizes. If there are no entries deemed fit for each of the prizes, the winning entry for the said prize may not be selected.
  2. Only submissions from participants that fit the submission criteria (given above) will be considered for selection.
  3. By submitting, the participant acknowledges that all of the photographs are their own works, and that the participant has the rights to submit those photographs to contests. 
  4. By submitting, the participant agrees to the use of submitted photos, whether selected or not, for the promotion of the "Korea through Our Eyes" Photo contest only.
  5. By submitting, the participant agrees to the use of the selected and prize-winning photos for the purpose of promoting Korean culture in the future, and acknowledges that the participant has the rights to grant such privileges to the Korean Cultural Center.
  6. The participant agrees that, if the participant or the entry does not meet the requirements stipulated, the prizes may be forfeited at any time.

<Jeju Haenyeo>

Hanyeo are female whose job is harvest seafood while controlling breathing without any apparatus. They realized that the sea is a Mother Nature to be tendered and preserved instead of being mass harvested.

Jeju Haenyeo’s unique cultural identity, community involvement in managing and handing down fishing practices and the promotion of environmental sustainability with its eco-friendly methods were so highly valued that its culture landed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in November 2016.

<Jeju, Volcanic Island>

Jeju is the largest and southernmost island isolated from the Korean peninsula. It has an area of 1,850.1 1㎢ and a population of 680,000 residents.

After Jeju was designated a Biosphere Reserve in 2002, World Natural Heritage in 2007 and a Global Geopark in 2010, the Culture of Jeju Haenyeo was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.

Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio, Nobel Prize laureate in Literature, referred to Jeju as one of the world`s last islands of outstanding natural beauty.

KCCI Samulnori Classes

Korean Cultural Centre India is delighted to announce the opening of free offline KCCI Samulnori Classes starting from March 2022, to be held at Korean Cultural Centre India.

If you want to apply for the Samulnori Classes, please go through the following details thoroughly:

  1. This is a beginner class, anybody can learn.
  2. 2-month course
  3. BTS's songs (Idol, Arirang) will be used for practice
  4. Musical instruments will be provided.
  5. The Samulnori classes will have two batches: Weekday and Weekend.
    1. Weekday batch: Monday and Wednesday, 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM, Starting date: 23rd March 2022, Wednesday
    2. Weekend batch: Saturday, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Starting date: 26th March 2022, Saturday
  6. The applicants will get to be a part of the Samulnori classes based on a first come, first-serve basis.

    2. No. of seats in the Weekend batch: 20
  7. The Samulnori classes can be applied for through Google Forms. The form will be opened on 15th March 2022 at 9 AM sharp and will close automatically once the seats are filled. The link is provided below:

  8. If a student misses the classes frequently or causes any kind of disturbance during the class, then they will be not allowed to take the Samulnori classes.
  9. At the end of the Samulnori classes program, The Korean Cultural Centre India Samulnori Performance Team of the students would be made. Whenever there is an event where the Samulnori Performance Team must perform, the team members will be given a performance fee and will also be given Korean language classes tuition fee discount in King Sejong Institute, Korean Cultural Centre India.
  10. The successful applicants must attend the Samulnori Classes orientation which will be held on 22nd March 2022, Tuesday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
