Notes

According to the COVID-19 government guidelines, the event may be canceled or changed

Must present COOV certification proof of completed 2nd vaccination or 3rd booster shot, verified through Kakao Talk or Naver QR code

You may be prevented from applying for future after a no-show or last-minute cancellation

Caution

• The event schedule is conducted according to the Korean Standard Time (KST).
• This event will be held in Korea for foreigners in Korea. The winners will attend the Seoul Music Awards at the Gocheok Skydome in Seoul.
• Admission is only available for those aged 15 or older, those who have completed the vaccine (14 days after the second inoculation, no more than 6 months after the inoculation), or those who have tested negative for PCR testing.
• When entering, you must show your ID card, vaccination completion card, or PCR negative result taken within 48 hours.
• Winners must be able to communicate via DMs and provide the requested information within the deadline.
• If there is no reply by January 20th after the winner's announcement, the winner will be canceled and a substitute will be selected.
• If you do not attend the concert, you might not be considered for future events, so please check whether you can participate.
• Other expenses (flights, accommodations, etc.) other than a ticket to the Seoul Music Awards are not provided.

2022 Korean New Year (설날) Event held!

Before the Korean New Year (January 1st of the lunar calendar), the Korean New Year in Osaka will hold the "2022 Korean New Year Event" where you can directly experience various Korean New Year customs.

In Korea, January 1st of the Lunar New Year is called Korean New Year (설날) and celebrates the beginning of a new year. Generally, in Korean New Year, families and relatives gather to have a tea ceremony, eat tteokguk (ozoni), and enjoy traditional games such as Yut.

Before the Korean New Year (February 1st this year), the Osaka Korean New Year will hold a <2022 Korean New Year Experience Event> where you can directly experience various Korean New Year customs.

Please take this opportunity to experience Korean New Year in a fun way (Free participation, advance application required).

* The event may be canceled depending on the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Osaka Prefecture. In case of cancellation, we will notify you on this homepage and contact the applicants by e-mail.

Event details

After the event, all participants will be presented with a memorial rice cake of Korean New Year. 

Common event (13: 00-14: 00)

Tea ceremony experience, traditional play experience, Hanbok experience

Only participants of the selected event can participate in the common event.

1. Drawing a year-old painting (Sefa) (capacity 12 people)
• I will draw a folk painting of this year's Zodiac Tiger.
2. Korean paper crafts (capacity 10 people)
• Experience making small items of Korean traditional paper "Korean paper".
3. Making Korean royal lights (capacity 8 groups)
• Reproduced using the Joseon Royal Light Production Kit by a group of 2 or 3 people such as family and friends. 
• Free entry fee
• We will lend you the tools. 
• In the Hanbok experience, the size and color you want may not be available.
• The design of the old painting (Sefa) and Korean paper crafts are subject to change.
• You can apply for making Korean royal lights only in groups of 2 or 3 people.
